Benue State University School Fees
BSU’s tuition fees vary for different faculties and programmes. The university’s management sets the fees annually, and students are advised to pay promptly as failure to do so can lead to the consequence of not being allowed to sit for their exams.
It is crucial to know that tuition fees do not cover other expenses such as accommodation, textbooks, medical fees, or any other extra-curricular activities.
Students must also come with their textbooks, educational materials, and writing instruments for their academic work.

After receiving the admission letter, students must pay the acceptance fee to confirm their admission.
The acceptance fee is non-refundable a hundred thousand (10,000) Naira. After accepting the admission, they will be required to pay their school fees, which depend on their departments.
Agriculture, Engineering and Food Science departments are required to pay ninety-seven thousand Naira (97,000)
Law students pay one hundred and ten thousand Naira (110,000), whereas science and science education courses pay sixty-six thousand (66,000) Naira for tuition, ten thousand (10,000) for verification of results, and ten thousand (10,000) for examination fees.
Education, Arts, Social Sciences and Management Science pay an amount of fifty-five thousand (55,000) Naira for tuition,
Medical students pay two hundred and fifty thousand Naira (250,000) for tuition,
Besides the tuition fees, there are fees such as the medical fee and the acceptance and registration fees in the different faculties. Medical students are required to pay thirty thousand (3,000) Naira for their Clinical posting, five thousand Naira (5,000) for a caution fee, and two thousand Naira (2,000) for a clean-up fee. The faculty of Science and Science Education are required to pay an additional fee of two thousand Naira (2,000) as a departmental fee.
Benue State University Admission Requirements
The requirements for admission into Benue State University vary depending on the faculty and course of study.
Consequently, BSU admission requirements also depend on whether a student is a UTME candidate or a Direct Entry candidate.
For candidates seeking admission through UTME, they must have taken the JAMB examination and scored at least one hundred and sixty (160) or one hundred and seventy (170) (depending on the course of study) in the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The UTME candidates must also possess a minimum of 5 credits, including English and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings. Thirdly, these candidates must have chosen Benue State University as their first choice in JAMB.
For Direct Entry students, they must have passed their O’level subjects and must possess the following eight (8) points in NCE, IJMB A’level before they can be considered for admission.
Candidates who finish from recognized Polytechnics an ND or a relevant degree with good grades can apply. Direct Entry applicants are expected to register for the Direct Entry JAMB (DE) and input Benue State University as their first choice.
Benue State University Hostel and Accomodation
BSU offers accommodation for both male and female students, and the process of securing one is straightforward if the students follow the guidelines.
Once newly admitted students have gotten their admission letter, they can apply for accommodation along with the payment of the acceptance fees.
The application process requires students to complete an online accommodation form and submit a non-refundable payment of twenty thousand (20,000) Naira.
The payment covers the hostel rent, electricity, utility bills, and the possibility of other necessary fees.
After payment, the next step will be to visit the hostel allocation officer to collect the bed space/hall ticket, which guarantees their right to occupy the space.
Students are advised to scan the bed space and areas to confirm whether they are suitable before finally occupying the space since allocation is strictly done on a “first-come, first-served” basis.
