Ahmadu Bello University Admission Requirements
To be admitted to Ahmadu Bello University, JAMB applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Applicants must obtain a minimum score of 180 in the UTME examinations.
• Applicants must have at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in their respective O-Level results.
• Applicants must select ABU as their first choice of institution during the JAMB application process.
• Applicants must have a minimum of credit passes in at least two relevant subjects in their respective O-Level results.
• Applicants must obtain at least the prescribed mark in their post-UTME or any other form of screening exercise as may be introduced by the university.

Ahmadu Bello University Hostel and Accomodation
Ahmadu Bello University has several hostel facilities. The hostels are of different types and are offered at different prices.
In choosing a hostel at ABU, several factors must be considered, such as the location, the prices, the facilities offered, and the room size.
There are two types of hostels at ABU – on-campus hostels and off-campus hostels.
The on-campus hostels are closer to the academic buildings and are easily accessible.
They include the Postgraduate Hostels, Shika Hostel, Kalambaina Hostel, and Salama Hostel.
The off-campus hostels are located outside the school premises and are mostly occupied by students who are not able to obtain on-campus hostel accommodations.
There are several off-campus hostels in Zaria, and students are free to choose any that suits their budget and preference.
To secure a hostel accommodation in ABU, students must
1. Apply for a hostel during the admission process or after completing the acceptance fee payment.
2. Pay the hostel fee.
3. Attend the hostel screening and register to get a bed space.
4. Provide a copy of the acceptance fee receipt and admission letter.
5. Provide four passport photographs, a photocopy of the O-Level result, and the JAMB result.
