As a state owned institution, RSU offers tuition discounts for students from Rivers State.

tuition for undergraduate students studying in the Faculty of Agriculture is ₦75,000 for Rivers State indigenes and ₦120,000 for non-indigenes.

Rivers State University Admission Requirements

To gain admission into Rivers State University, students must meet the institution’s admission requirements.

For undergraduate programs, candidates must have a minimum of five credits in their Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or its equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics.

candidates must sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtain a minimum score of 180.

However, some programs, such as Medicine and Surgery, may have higher cut-off marks and additional requirements.

For postgraduate programs, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and satisfy any other requirements stipulated by the institution.

Rivers State University Hostel Accommodation

Rivers State University provides hostel accommodation for students who want to live on-campus.

The institution has six hostels, including four male hostels and two female hostels.

The hostels can accommodate up to 6,000 students and are equipped with modern facilities such as 24-hour electricity, water supply, and security.

The accommodation fees range from ₦25,000 to ₦26,000 per student per session, Students are encouraged to apply for accommodation early as available bed spaces are limited.
